157. Amsterdam, Olympisch Stadion
The Olympisch Stadion designed by architect Jan Wils is one of the finest examples of theAmsterdam School architecture. It was built as the main stadium for the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. The Olympic flame was burned for the first time ever in a tall tower. Nonetheless, the top bowl is known for local people as the KLM pilots ashtray.
