2055. Sven Markelius' Villa at Kevinge

Dear Eva,

This historic postcard regarding Sven Markelius'
own home at Kevinge was sent either by Mr. or
Mrs. Markelius as a Holidays greetings card.
This villa, built with prefabricated building
elements and the heating system, became highly associated to good craftsmanship, and sensible
and careful adjustments to the site. In all, it was
seen as the perfect example of the best Swedish
post-war empiricist architecture.

Gratefully,
R

Dear Anne,

A vintage view of the Radiohuset's trapezoid concert hall
on Julius Thonsens Gade in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen.
The concert hall was designed to accommodate 1200 people and features an impressive pipe organ built in 1946.

Sincerely,
R

Dear Henny,

"My mind is free, it does what it likes; and it is free
because only I know what it is doing. I often envy my
mind" (Vilhelm Lauritzen)

Cordially,

450. Barranquilla, Colombia. Edificio del Centro Civico

Dear Werner,

As always, thank you so much for your valuable information.
You have no idea how important is that for me. This is a
"little present" for you. My latest built structure in Barranquilla.
The first one of a large complex we could project for this city.

Best regards.

369. Kobenhavn. Den Danske Statsradiofoni

Dear Lin,

Jorn Utzon lived across the street at the time while the
Concert Hall Radiohuset was being completed in 1945.
His friend Tobias Faber was also employed by Lauritzen
to supervising construction. It is not by chance that the shell roof of Sydney Opera House shared some similarities with Lautitzen's Radiohuset.

Best regards.
