1640. The Design Museum's Shad Thames home.

Dear Dylan,

This charming building was the home of the
world's first museum of mass-produced design.
The building was originally a former 1940s
banana warehouse and was converted to
resemble a building in the international Modernist
Style of the 1930s. In fact, people used to call it
"Bauhaus on Thames"

Best regard,

Querido Iñaki,

es más cierta; una definición operativa a través del conjunto de problemas de la arquitectura y de los de su enseñanza" (Alejandro de la Sota)

Dear Richard,

"We are magical beings, as human beings, because
we have this power of creativity. No other beings on
this planet have this gift because their pattern of
existence are set and just as a deer is always a deer, a
bear can only be a bear, a fish only a fish. But, we can recreate ourselves and create the tools to be anything
we want, faster than a cheetah, fly higher than a bird, stronger than an elephant: we are not limited. All we
have to do is declare our intentions powerfully and
keep our word, not operating on reason, but on a total commitment and we make our visions happen."
(Douglas Cardinal, Blackfoot)

1167. The Mikkeli Concert and Congress Hall

Querido Jean,

Dear Timo,

I also believe that the Modern Movement is an inexhaustible
source of architectural concepts, rich in meaning and
history as Kristian Gullichsen declared and confirmed in this
graceful and inspiring building.

Kind regards,
R

885. Kobenhavn. Tycho Brahe Planetarium

Dear Arianna,

The exquisite Tycho Brahe Planetarium was designed by

Knud Munk, the architect of the wonderful Carlsberg
Brewery building in Northampton, UK. The planetarium,
that somehow resembles some other buildings of Mario
Botta, is dedicated in honor of Danish astronomer and
alchemist Tycho Ottesen Brahe.

R
