a place whose momentary magic lies embedded
within the stone that supports it.” (Douglas Cardinal)

Perdido como un quinto en día de permiso
como un santo sin paraíso.
como el ojo del maniquí
huraño como un dandy con lamparaones
como un barco sin polizones...
así estoy yo, así estoy yo, sin tí.

Dear Michael,

Architecture is first and foremost construction, but construction designed with the primary purpose of ordering the space for a particular purpose and aiming certain intentions" (Lucio Costa)

1195. Rakennettua Kulttuuria. Kiasma, Helsinki

Dear Fedir,

"For our Helsinki Museum of Contemporary
Art, Kiasma the most important building
material was light. Of the twenty-five galleries
which make up the main function of the
museum all have a slice of natural light. The
behavior of light guided many decisions. The
low angle of the Helsinki sun – never reaching
above 51 degrees – helps give sectional form
to the curved “light catching” aspect of the
architecture. Changes in natural lighting
conditions are left visible – so passing clouds
bring shadow – brightness varies as the interior
experience varies." (Steven Holl)

Thank you,

Dear Enzo,

"Love architecture, ancient and modern,
because...it has created around us the
simultaneity of many ages; it has created
Venice and New York.
...
Love architecture for the magic it
has created around us, around our lives."
(Gio Ponti-Amate L'Architettura)

Dear Nari,

“My home is the womb. The womb’s
home is the mother, the mother’s home
is the house and the house’s home is
the environment. It’s wrong to think of
a home as just a residence."
(Kim Swoo Geun)
