en esta ciudad. De las muchas iglesias
que este arquitecto diseñó en su
carrera esta, de planta circular, es
una de las más conseguidas.

En esta postal se pueden ver el triple puente sobre
el Lubljanica y a la derecha la tienda de flores que
principia uno de los extremos del mercado municipal
de la ciudad que se extiende paralelo al rio hasta el
Puente de los Dragones. Al otro lado del rio se puede
ver la antigua tienda de tabacos. Plečnik tiene 8
edificios en las listas de Monumentos de la Humanidad
de la Unesco (Frank Lloyd Wright también tiene 8)

Dear Tom,
This lovely postcard from Ljubljana features
many buildings designed by famous Slovenian
architect Jože Plečnik including from bottom left
and counterclockwise the Central Market,
St. Michael's Church, the Žale Cemetery, the
National and University Library, the Triple Bridge,
and the Palace of Vzajemna Zavarovalnica mutual
insurer.
This last building was a commercial and residencial
building designed in a style associated with
the Vienna Secession and particularly with Otto
Wagner's Vienna Palaces.

The Žale Cemetery located near to Ljubljana is one
of the most beautiful cemeteries in Europe.
It was designed and built by famed Slovenian
architect Jože Plečnik in the early1940s. It is the
final resting place of many people including its
architect.

Dear Eduard,
The People's loan bank in Celje, Slovenia, was designed
by slovenian architect Jože Plečnik and built in 1929. It
clearly stated a very special language based on using
simplified mannerist and classical elements in a very
harmonic way.

Dear Norman,
The Church of the Sacred Heart in Vinohrady (Prague)
is a project of Jože Plečnik finished in 1932. The clear
glass rose windows on either side of the wide bell tower
contrast with the general heaviness of the building.
Indeed the emphasis of this church is put on the exterior
although the interior is a very unique space which
nevertheless has a recognizable religious aura.
