The Museum of the Slovak National Uprising
(SNP Museum) in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, is a
striking example of socialist modernist architecture,
blending monumental form with symbolic meaning.
It houses the main premises of the Museum of the
Slovak Anti-Fascist Uprising of 1944.

Esta es una postal que seguramente te sonará familiar.
La avenida de los Manatiales en Torremolinos con las
tres torres al fondo. Obra magistral de Luis Alfonso
Pagán con fuertes referencias a Torres Blancas de
Saénz de Oiza. Pagán explica quec“cada vivienda es
una vivienda jardín aplicando el mismo concepto de
cualquier vivienda unifamiliar en una urbanización:
se accede a ella desde un distribuidor ajardinado,
por la terraza que se extiende hacia el exterior, al sol
y al mar y, de esta, se pasa al interior de la vivienda”.
El complejo residencial Los Manantiales está
compuesto por tres torres de 18 plantas con un
total de 240 apartamentos (cinco apartamentos de
74 m2 por planta), un hotel con 45 habitaciones,
zona comercial a pie de calle, áreas verdes, piscina
y un solarium en la cubierta.

2418. Nyköping. Rådhuset och nya Stadshuset
Dear Mariona,
Nyköping Town Hall was built in 1723 and Nyköping
City Hall, designed by Danish architects Jean-Jacques
Baruël and Paul Niepoort, was built between 1962 and
1969. Both are listed buildings since 2012.
The City Hall is one of Sweden's most interesting
modernist buildings and it has strong connections to
the architecture of Alvar Aalto.

Querido Juan,
Cuando viajé desde Kouvola hasta Imatra me detuve
en Lappeenranta para visitar la impresionante
iglesia de Lauritsala, dedicada a San Lorenzo.
En 1969 el arquitecto Korhonen y el todavía estudiante
de arquitectura Laapotti diseñaron juntos esta iglesia
moderna que ahora está inscrita en el registro de
patrimonio construido finés.

designed between 1962 and 1966 and built in 1969.
