Querida Cristina,

La casa Guiette en Amberes fue el primer

edificio construido por Le Corbusier fuera

de Francia y la única obra del arquitecto

existente en Bélgica. Este edificio es uno 

de los 17 proyectos de Le Corbusier que 

fueron admitidos por la UNESCO como

patrimonio mundial de la humanidad en

2016.

Le Corbusier's last building was not built of concrete, his
favorite building material, but entirely of steel, enamel, and glass. This small and charming pavilion is located near the Zürichhorn and houses the Heidi Weber Museum dedicated to the work of this extraordinary artist and architect.

Dear Louise,

Old barge Liège was renovated by Le Corbusier in
1929 to create a floating asylum for the Army of
Salvation to provide shelter for homeless people
particularly during the winter months.
The refurbished barge was renamed Louise-Catherine
after the german painter Louise-Catherine Breslau.
Le Corbusier itself explained the project:
"The barge was 80 meters long. We built, from the
bottom to the top a vast space divided into three
compartments. We added 160 beds, a dining room,
kitchens, toilets, sinks, showers, private apartments,
and a hanging garden on the roof of the barge"

Hace mil postales que te escribí desde el Palacio da Alborada de Brasilia. Hoy te escribo desde Chandigarh, donde la sensación de vastedad inabarcable es tambien palpable. Sin embargo este edificio del Corbu no parece flotar como el de Niemeyer, sino que esta anclado al lugar exhibiendo su solemnidad y maravilloso equilibrio.

Esta es la postal de la que te hable.
Emocionante descubrir a traves de esta imagen la
"vida secreta" de una obra trascendental, genial y
magica como es Ronchamp, no crees?
Es a la vez un simil que enseña el intento constante de
verse a si mismo envuelto en un proceso permanente de
construccion mental y crecimiento interior para llegar
a ser mejor persona; eso si con la insoslayable ayuda
(esos andamios que se ven en la foto) de los seres
y las cosas que tienen autentico y verdadero sentido
en ese proceso.

thrilled when I saw the two postcards with the Claude
Parent's building. I also enjoy his architecture and they are
very hard to find.
