2166. The Main Reading Hall. Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Dear Olga,

"The new Bibliotheca Alexandrina with its vast
circular form alongside the circular Alexandrian harbor
recalls the cyclical nature of knowledge, fluid
throughout time." (Snøhetta)

Cheers.

1070. Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Dear Chris,

"The new Bibliotheca Alexandrina was conceived as a revival of the ancient library in the city  founded by Alexander the Great some 2,300 years ago and lost to civilization centuries later. Its vast circular form alongside the circular Alexandrian harbor recalls the cyclical nature of knowledge, fluid throughout time." (Snøhetta)

Best,

573. Cairo, Kasr. El Nile Street and Immobilia Building

Dear Ivan,

The first scyscraper in Cairo and in
Egypt was the expressionist Immobilia
Building. Designed in 1937 and
completed in 1940, it was then, with
18 floors and 70 meters, the highest
structure in the country.

Best regards.
