2354. Trieste. Temple of Monte Grisa.

Dear Luca,

At the entrance of this Sanctuary
there is a message that encapsulates
the meaning of this place:
"Unity in plurality is achieved when
we look upwards, where we see more
of what unites rather than what divides"

Peace,
R

Querido Alberto,

delante." (Angela Garcia de Paredes)

Cordialmente,
R

Dear Luke,

"The familiar is what makes building meaningful to
us, while the surprising elements should give us a
fresh view of the familiar. The new gives fresh life
to the old, and makes it apply more particularly to
us." (Charles Moore)

R

Querido Miguel Angel,

Dear Paul,

"A great building must begin with the unmeasurable,
must go through measurable means when it is
designed, and in the end must be unmeasurable"
(Louis I. Kahn)

Dear John,

The DWP headquarters is the only public building in the whole city that genuinely graces the scene and lifts the spirit (and sits in firm control of the whole basis of human existence in Los Angeles)" (Reyner Banham, architectural historian).

Sincerely,
R

Dear Elissa,

"The library was built in 1965 and has one of Aalto's
most successful late interiors with several changes of level and with lighting designed to exploit the low northern sun."
(J.M. Richards. 800 Years of Finnish Architecture. Vancouver: David and Charles, 1978. p.179)

Respectfully,
R
