2182. Office of Walter Gropius. Bauhaus, Weimar

Querido Pedro,

“Todo objeto, un recipiente, una silla,
una cosa, está determinado por su razón
de ser y, para concederle una forma
realmente racional, hay que investigar
su carácter en profundidad.”
(Walter Gropius)

Saludos,

Querida Cristina,

Dear Marianne,

"When I was a small boy, somebody asked me what
my favorite color was. For some years my family
poked fun at me saying, after some hesitation:
Multicolor is my favorite color. The strong desire to include every vital component of life instead of
excluding part of them for the sake of too narrow and dogmatic is an approach has characterized my whole
life" (Walter Gropius)

Respectfully.

Dear Dan,

"A modern building should derive its architectural significance solely from the vigour and consequence
of its own organic proportions. It must be true to itself, logically transparent, and virginal of lies or trivialities." (Walter Gropius)

Sincerely.

469. Bauhausbauten in Dessau

Dear Sybille,

The Torten district in Dessau was built between 1926
and 1928 for the Reichsforschungsgesellschaft by
Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius. The new district was
organized from a central small square where the tall
cooperative building was located. From there, and
spreading out in concentric rings, two-story row houses
with small gardens behind were laid-out.

Best regards.

Dear Silke,

"...the symmetrical relationships of the parts of the building
and their orientation towards a central axis is being
replaced by a new conception of equilibrium which
transmutes this dead symmetry of similar parts into an
asymmetrical but rhythmical balance" (Walter Gropius)

Best regards

Querido Alfonso,

Luego he
