Querida Cristina,
Esta es un vista desde el interior

2465. Quartiere S. Ambrogio di Milano. Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giovanni Bono.
Querida Cristina,
a Arrigo Arrighetti.

"Not forms but structure of forms. Structural design
directs architecture." (Leonardo Mosso)
All the best,
R

and serene building that represented a milestone in
the evolution of Italian architecture."
(Marcello Piacentini )

2429. Nuova Sede della Esso Standard Italiana. Roma, EUR
Dear Carlos,
“This has been clear for centuries: from Romans to
Romanics, from Gothics to Brunelleschi, from
Bramante to Guarini, the conquest and resolution of
interior space coincided with the conquest and history
of architecture itself.” (Luigi Moretti)
Regards,
R
2403. Longuelo, Bergamo. Chiesa dell'Immacolata
Dear Rodney,
The intricate concrete structure of this church in
Longuelo forms a tensile structure reminiscent of
a sail, or, symbolically, Moses's tent.
Cheers,
R
2375. Cervinia, Breuil, Châlet Pirovano
Dear Luigi,
"Modern architecture does not consist in the use of
new materials and construction techniques: all means
of construction are valid at all times, provided they
are logical and still efficient." (Franco Albini)
Best regards,
R
2362. Riola. Chiesa di Alvar Aalto
Dear Mario,
"Architecture must always have charm; it is a crystallized
sense of being at home, in one's region, in one's country,
on the earth. It is a matter of profound harmony."
(Alvar Aalto)
Ciao,
R
2354. Trieste. Temple of Monte Grisa.
Dear Luca,
At the entrance of this Sanctuary
there is a message that encapsulates
the meaning of this place:
"Unity in plurality is achieved when
we look upwards, where we see more
of what unites rather than what divides"
Peace,
R
2344. Royal Hotel. Swimming Pools. San Remo
Querida Cristina,
Besos,
R
2305. Taranto, Concattedrale "Gran Madre di Dio"
Dear Lucca,
"Design creates culture, culture shapes
values, values determine the future."
(Gio Ponti)
Best,
R
2296. Taranto. Concattedrale Gran Madre di Dio. Veduta interna.
Dear Cecilia,
"Original ideas do not exist. Ideas are received and
re-expressed. We say -I got and idea- not -I created
an idea-." (Gio Ponti)
Sincerely,
R
2225. Milano Moderna. Casa Albergo in Via Bassini.
Dear Paolo,
"Architecture seems to gather even more densely
than any other art, in a continuity of alternatives,
the two extreme polarities of the human rhythm:
the density of realistic presence, and enchantment,
that is, the overcoming of this presence."
(Luigi Moretti)
Cheers,
R
2193. Chiesa di Dio Padre Misericordioso, Roma
Dear Paolo,
"Rome has not seen a modern building in more than
half a century. It is a city frozen in time."
(Richard Meier)
Ciao.
R
2174. Sorbolo. Asilo Monumento
Querido Juan,
"La arquitectura no deriva de una suma de longitudes,
anchuras y alturas de los elementos constructivos que
envuelven el espacio, sino que dimana propiamente
del vacío, del espacio envuelto, del espacio interior,
en el cual los hombres viven y se mueven."
(Bruno Zevi, "Saber Ver la Arquitectura")
Un abrazo,
R
2159. Valle d'Aosta, Cervinia-Breuil
Dear Marco,
The tall building in the center of the picture is the
"Casa del Sole" condominium building designed
by Carlo Mollino. This extraordinary man used to
think that everything is permissible as long as it is
fantastic.
Ciao,
R
2151. Palace of Justice, Salerno, Italy
Dear Oliver,
"My generation has always been about the product,
but I believe more than anything now that we need
to focus on the process."
(David Chipperfield)
PS. Congratulations for the 2023 Pritzker Architecture
Price.
R
2132. Lauro (Avellino)
Querida Luz,
elegante arquitecto y profesor Francesco Venezia
construyó en esta su localidad natal.
Besos,
R
