Dear Norman,
"Symbolism was not the primary purpose of the pinnacle
structure: that its bracing indicates a crown (not of thorns-it is the Cathedral of Christ the King) was of less importance to me than the environmental consideration of dissolving the silhouette into the Liverpool atmosphere." (Frederick Gibberd)
