140. Copenhagen. Gammeltorv and our Lady's Church
Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1938, the "Stelling Hus" is located in the northern side of the old Gammeltorv square. The building situated in an old part of the town was, at the time, criticized for its irreverent modernism. Today, however, it is possible to appreciate how well the building measures up to the scale of the old built neighbors, and how much even its building material is in keeping with the congenial atmosphere of the district.
