Dear Alison,
The State Capitol Bank in Oklahoma City is a reamrkable
example of Googie Mid-Century architecture in the United States. Although the bank president wanted a "bank of the future" he also told the architect that he liked the bank to look more like a cocktail lounge than a bank.
American architectural photographer Julius Shulman
celebrated the originality and ingenuity of this building
with one of his iconic and powerful images.
Regards,
R
