of the twentieth century. Besides this
Medical dental building in Neo-Mayan
style he was the author of buildings like

School, or the Telephone Building.

was originally built as a warehouse that included 
some office space. It was one of the largest 
building in Iceland and it was designed by one of 
the most influential modern architects in the 
country in functionalist style.

Twenty years later, when a third wing expansion was

Siedlung Römerstadt is a famous housing estate including
more than 1200 residential units, about half of them
apartment units and the other half terraced family housing.
The estate was planned by Ernst May and the housing
designed by Carl-Hermann Rudloff between 1925 and 1929.
The general layout resembles somehow the one for the
siedlung Törten in Dessau designed by Walter Gropius.
