2368. München DAS HYPO-HAUS

Dear Jan,

This futuristic 114 meter high skyscraper
was built by the husband-and-wife architects
Walther and Bea Betz in 1981. The floors
of the building are cantilevered off multiple
big circular concrete piers and the facades
are made of glass and aluminium.
The building was landmarked only 25 years
after being completed and it still looks very
coeval.

Best regards,
R

2366. Madrid.

Madrid.

2365. Helsinki. Meilahden Kirkko.

Dear Timo,

The church and the bell tower of the
Meilahti church was designed by
architect Markus Tavio back in 1938.
The bell tower houses a bell originally
intended for the Vyborg Cathedral
with the inscription Pro Viburgo that
was eventually donated to this church.

All the best,
R

2362. Riola. Chiesa di Alvar Aalto

Dear Mario,

"Architecture must always have charm; it is a crystallized
sense of being at home, in one's region, in one's country,
on the earth. It is a matter of profound harmony."
(Alvar Aalto)

Ciao,

2360. Helsinki Central Library Oodi

Dear Marina,

"The traditional serene library atmosphere can be
found on the top floor. This is a calm and
contemplative area floating above the busy central
Helsinki. It offers unobstructed, majestic views to
the surrounding park and cityscape."
(ALA Architects)

All the best,
R
