2420. Van Nelle Fabriek Rotterdam

 

Queridos Rafa y Louis,

La mítica fábrica de tabaco, té y café Van Nelle en

Róterdam fue construida por el estudio de arquitectos

Brinkman y Van der Vlugt con la colaboración de 

Mart Stam entre 1925 y 1930. Este edificio se 

convirtió rápidamente en un importante manifiesto 

de la arquitectura moderna funcionalista en los 

Países Bajos desde el periodo de entreguerras en

adelante.

2419. La Réserve. Restaurant et Centre Balnéaire. Agadir

 

Dear David,

The spectacular restaurant "La Réserve" was a 

sumptuous annex of the "Marhaba" hotel.

Its original rounded shapes rising from the sand 

on three rounded piers at the edge of the dunes and 

the ocean collapsed during the terrible 1960 

earthquake that almost destroyed the entire city of 

Agadir.

2418. Nyköping. Rådhuset och nya Stadshuset

Dear Mariona,

Nyköping Town Hall was built in 1723  and Nyköping 

City Hall, designed by Danish architects Jean-Jacques 

Baruël and Paul Niepoort, was built between 1962 and 

1969. Both are listed buildings since 2012.

The City Hall is one of Sweden's most interesting 

modernist buildings and it has strong connections to

the architecture of Alvar Aalto.

2416. Kyoto International Conference Hall

 

Querida Antonio,

Aquí te mando otra postal del interior del asombroso

Kyoto International Conference Hall, obra del 

arquitecto japonés Sachio Otani. Las superficies de

hormigón están todas pulidas a mano de forma

que son suaves al tacto, con una textura única 

que se asemeja a la construcción tradicional 

japonesa de madera.

2415. Copenhagen. Grundtvigs Church

 

Querido Paco,

El estilo de esta maravillosa iglesia de 

Grundtvigskirken en la afueras de 

Copenhague es producto de una mezcla 

de estilos que incluye el medieval, 

el danés eclesiástico  tradicional y 

el expresionismo abstracto. 

El hijo del arquitecto Peder V. Klint, 

Kaare Klint, también arquitecto, 

terminó de construirla en 1940.
